About Avelynq

Avelynq makes the things that decide how your night goes — what you hear, what you see, and when it all switches off.

Why this exists

Avelynq started because of a neighbour.

For a stretch of months I lay awake most nights. Nothing was wrong with me — the wall was thin, and the noise on the other side of it kept arriving at times I could not predict. A door. A television left on. Footsteps at one in the morning. Never loud enough to be worth complaining about, and always loud enough to keep me listening for the next one.

What I worked out in that period is that silence was never the thing I needed. You cannot get silence in an apartment, and chasing it makes everything worse: the quieter a room is, the more each individual sound becomes an event. What helped was the opposite. Give the room a steady floor of sound, and the door and the television and the footsteps stop standing out against it. They are still there. They just stop being the thing you are waiting for.

That is the whole idea behind what we sell. Not silence, and not trying harder to sleep. Just taking back the parts of a room that somebody else has been deciding for you.

The room is the product

Most sleep products treat one symptom. A machine for noise. A lamp for light. An app for timing. Each one solves its own piece and quietly ignores the others, which is why you can own all three and still lie awake in a room that feels wrong.

We build around the opposite idea: the room is a single environment, and you should be able to tune it the way you tune anything else you care about — by hand, in seconds, without thinking hard about it.

That is why our first product has eight sliders instead of a playlist. Rain sits on one. Wind on another. A distant train, a stream, a fire, birdsong, cicadas, a soft chime — each on its own track, each moving independently. You are not picking a preset someone else designed. You are building the room you happen to need tonight, which is rarely the room you needed last week.

No app, on purpose

Every sound machine could be controlled from a phone, and most are. We think that is the wrong trade.

Reaching for a screen at the exact moment you are trying to stop reaching for a screen undoes the point of the device. A physical control you can find in the dark, without unlocking anything, without a notification arriving on the way — that is worth more than a settings menu with a hundred options in it.

So the controls are on the unit. There is nothing to download, nothing to pair, no account to make, and nothing that stops working when an app is discontinued three years from now.

What we don't say

We sell consumer electronics for comfort and everyday use. They are not medical devices, and we will not tell you they treat, cure or prevent anything — not insomnia, not anxiety, not any condition.

What sound masking actually does is narrower and more honest than the claims usually made for it: it raises the floor of a room so that the sudden noises above it — a door, a car, a neighbour — stop standing out. For a lot of people that is enough. If something more is going on with your sleep, that is a conversation for a doctor, not a product page.

How we work

Orders are processed within one to two business days and shipped with tracking on every parcel. Delivery usually takes 7–14 business days depending on where you are and how quickly customs moves. We say that up front rather than at the end of checkout, because a delivery estimate you only discover afterwards is not an estimate, it is a surprise.

Every order comes with a 30-night trial. Sleep is not something you can evaluate in a shop, or in an evening. It takes a couple of weeks of ordinary nights before you know whether something has actually changed.

Who we are

Avelynq is a young brand, and we would rather say so than perform a history we do not have. What we can be judged on is here on the site: what the product does, what it costs, how long it takes to arrive, and what happens if you send it back. All of it is written down, and none of it changes at checkout.
